AI Front Desk for Metro Detroit trades
AI answering service for HVAC, plumbing and roofing shops in Metro Detroit
You can't grab the phone from a roof or a crawl space. Our AI receptionist answers the calls you miss, takes the job details, puts emergencies through to you, and books the work on your calendar. Keep your number. Answering calls within about a day.
- Keep your number
- Answering within about a day
- No long-term contract
- 7-day pilot for $99
Missed calls are missed jobs
Small shops are busy doing the work. Here's how often calls to trade businesses actually reach a person.
of calls to HVAC companies were answered by a live person.[1]
of calls were answered by a person across home services overall.[1]
for plumbing, the best-answered trade in the report. That still leaves about 1 in 4 calls.[1]
of callers who get sent to voicemail leave a message.[2]
Voicemail isn't a safety net. Fewer than 3 in 100 callers sent to voicemail leave a message. The rest are gone.
What one phone call can be worth
| Job (Angi average cost) | Avg. |

| Water heater replacement (U.S.)[5] | $1,348 |
| Electrical panel replacement (U.S.)[6] | $1,347 |
| Garage door replacement (U.S.)[7] | $1,223 |
Averages are what homeowners report paying on Angi, not what any one shop earns. Sources are listed at the bottom of the page.
What's included
One setup covers the phone, the follow-up text and the review ask.
Answers missed and after-hours calls
When you can't get to the phone, day or night, the AI receptionist picks up.
Takes the job details
Name, address, what's wrong and how soon they need you. You get a summary in the app and by email right away, and by text once texting is approved.
Puts emergencies through to you
You set what counts as an emergency. Those callers get connected to your cell, live.
Books into your calendar
It books jobs into your calendar, using the hours and job types you pick.
Every caller hears back
If a caller hangs up, or after the AI handles the call, they get a text from your shop within about a minute. Texting turns on once the phone carriers approve your shop for business texting, usually within 3–10 business days.
Review-request texts
When you mark a job done, the customer gets one short review-request text and one reminder. Starts once texting is approved.

Your AI receptionist is answering within about a day. We file your texting registration the same day, and texting goes live when the carriers approve, usually 3–10 business days.
You get the 7-day results
The 7 days start the day texting goes live. On day 7, Kirk sends a written report: calls answered, emergencies sent to you, texts sent, jobs booked. Then you decide.
The $99 pilot and pricing
Try it on your real calls for a week. Look at the numbers. Then decide.
7-day pilot
$99 seven-day pilot. Your receptionist starts answering right away, and the 7 days start counting the day texting goes live, so you see every feature working before you decide. Until then, the receptionist answers your missed calls at no extra charge.

Questions shop owners ask
Does the AI receptionist sound robotic?
No. It uses a natural-sounding voice, talks in full sentences and asks follow-up questions, so it doesn't feel like an old phone menu. It tells callers it's an automated assistant, and it can put a caller through to you. You'll hear it on test calls before it goes live.
Do I keep my phone number?
Yes. You keep your number and your phone carrier. Calls you don't pick up get sent to the receptionist with call forwarding. You can turn forwarding off any time with a short code from your phone.
What happens with emergency calls?
Emergency calls go straight to you, live. You decide what counts as an emergency, like no heat in January, water coming through a ceiling, or a burning smell. When a caller matches, the receptionist puts them through to your cell. If you can't pick up, you get the details in the app and by email right away, and by text once texting is approved.
What if I already have an answering service?
You can keep it. Run the pilot on the calls that slip through today, like after-hours or overflow calls, and compare. The day-7 report shows what the AI front desk caught. If your current service is working, keep it.
Is there a contract?
There's no long-term contract. The pilot is $99 for 7 days, counted from the day texting goes live. After that it's month to month at $297 a month, which is K2's suggested price. Final terms are put in writing before you start.
What happens after the 7-day pilot?
On day 7 of the pilot (counted from the day texting goes live) you get a written results report, and then you decide. The report shows calls answered, after-hours calls, emergencies sent to you, texts sent, and jobs booked. If you keep going, it's $297 a month. If not, you turn off call forwarding and you're done.
How long does setup take?
The AI receptionist is answering within about a day. Texting (text-back, confirmations, review requests) goes live as soon as the carriers approve your shop, usually 3–10 business days. After a 15-minute call, we build the receptionist around your shop, connect your calendar, help you turn on call forwarding, and run test calls together.
Why does texting take a few days?
The phone carriers require every business that sends automated texts to register by its legal name and EIN. We file it for you the day you say yes. Approval usually takes 3–10 business days, and your website needs a privacy policy (we can add one if it doesn't).
What number do the texts come from?
A local 586 texting number set up for your shop, with your shop's name at the start of every text. Your main number doesn't change.
Who is K2 Automation Advisors?
K2 Automation Advisors is the trade name of K2 Mobility Ventures LLC, a Michigan limited liability company run by Kirk Kralapp, who lives in Macomb County. Kirk is a longtime B2B sales manager who now sets up AI phone answering and booking for local trade shops. We're new and don't have a client list yet. That's why we start with a $99 pilot and show you the numbers in writing.
Service area
We work with owner-operated HVAC, plumbing, roofing, electrical and garage door shops (1 to 20 people) in Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties, including Clinton Township, Macomb Township, Sterling Heights, Shelby Township, Warren, Mount Clemens, Chesterfield, St. Clair Shores, Troy, Royal Oak, Rochester Hills, Southfield, Livonia, Dearborn, Canton and nearby towns.
